Baking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I taught myself in the kitchen at fourteen, discovered early how something homemade could bring people together and make a an everyday moment feel special. I've made birthday cakes for my five children, desserts for family reunions, corporate events and countless gatherings where good food mattered.
For a long time, friends and family encouraged me to open a bakery and share my desserts with my community. It felt like a distant dream, set aside while I built a career and raised a family. After moving to Virginia Beach and stepping away from corporate life, the dream I had carried for decades finally had room to grow.
Barbie's Bakeshoppe is the culmination of that journey—a deeply personal expression of myself. A place where warmth, comfort and quiet elegance come together, where everyday moments are sweetened, and time slows while conversations linger. Every dessert reflects my belief that the best food doesn't just taste good—it makes people feel at home.
